Janeine Knight

Janeine Knight, 82 of Unionville, MO passed away Sunday April 17, 2022, at Northeast Regional Medical Center.

Marion Janeine Parrish was born April 19, 1939, in Cody, Wyoming to James and Virginia (Parsons) Parrish. While she was a young girl the family moved to Missouri and settled in the St. John area of Western Putnam County. She attended St. John School and graduated from Unionville High School with the class of 1957. On September 20, 1959, she was united in marriage to Gerald D. Knight, and they resided on a farm west of Unionville. Janeine was very active in church and was a member of Broadlawn Baptist Church. She taught children through adults in Sunday School, Bible Study and led many fun youth activities. She was a good example of what a Christian wife and mother should be and raised her children in a loving Christian home. She was a stay-at-home mom raising her 4 kids until the youngest was older and she then worked part-time as a florist at The Hitching Post Flower Shop.

Janeine is survived by her husband of 62 years Gerald Knight, 4 children, Kevin (Jo) Knight, Alise Tolias, Jerry (Carol) Knight and Jason (Kim) Knight who all reside in Unionville. Grandchildren, Brian (Becky) Knight, Nyle Knight & Katy Peterson, Megan (Zach) Group, Jamie Tolias, Jeffrey & Colt Knight and 3 great grandchildren, Ashley, Graydon & Henry Knight. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Loretta Parrish, and a brother-in-law Gary (Mitzie) Knight, along with many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, In-laws, Ivan & Mary Knight, brother, Herb Parrish, brother & sister-in-law Carroll & Lillian Knight and a son-in-law Chris Tolias.

Janeine will be remembered as a lady who loved visiting with friends and spending time with her family. In these later years really enjoyed her youngest grandsons and all their electronics and marveled at the way they learned through all their devices and was so excited to be able to help her granddaughter make her bridal bouquet. She will be missed, but also celebrated for her strength of character and willingness to listen and help when she could.

Graveside services for Janeine will be at the Unionville Cemetery at 11:00 am on Friday, April 22. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of the Playle and Collins Family Funeral Home in Unionville, MO.
