Carolyn Jane Rude

Carolyn Jane Rude 68, of Greentop, Missouri, passed away Sunday (April 10, 2022) at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

The daughter of Joe and Clementine (Ebers) Thorpe, she was born June 28, 1953, in Louisiana, Missouri. She grew up in the New Hartford and Middletown area and graduated from Bowling Green RI High School with the class of 1971.

She attended Beauty School in Kirksville and worked in that field for a while. She then went to work at Hollister’s and worked there until retiring in 2004 after about thirty years.

Carolyn was united in marriage to Walter Rude October 29, 1981 in Middletown, Missouri, at the home of her parents. They lived most of their married life in Greentop, Missouri.

She is preceded in death by her husband Walter, her parents, brother Gary Thorpe, and brother-in-law Gary Rutherford.

Carolyn is survived by two sons Steve Rude and Randy Wright, grandchildren Brooke Hurley and husband Casey of Greentop, Mo., Elizabeth Rogers of Columbia, Mo., Cassidy Rude of Kirksville, Mo and Dalton Wright of Oklahoma, great grandchildren , Teagen Hurley, Kinslea Hurley, Karsyn Yowell, and Karter Rude She is also survived by one sister Brenda Rutherford of Vandalia, Mo., one brother Jim and wife Karla Thorpe of New Hartford, Mo., sister-in-law Nancy Thorpe of Vandalia, Missouri and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by several close friends who she enjoyed spending time with.

She loved all her family and especially her grandchildren. She loved to shop, especially for the great grandchildren. She enjoyed reading and studying her Bible. Carolyn liked to cook and watch TV. She was very active and outgoing. She always had a smile on her face.

She was a member of the Bethel Church. She had a deep faith and liked to tell others about Jesus.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a m to 12:00 noon with the funeral service at noon (April 22, 2022) with Pastor Marvin Cross officiating in the Dooley Funeral Home in Queen City. MO. Burial will be in the Coffey Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chase Miller, Casey Hurley, Schuyler Henderson, Christian Henderson, Mark Henderson, and Travis Bridgeman
