Stan Davis, 54, of Unionville, Missouri, passed away at Mercy One Hospital in Centerville, Iowa, on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, after a year-and-a-half battle with cancer.
Stanley Michael Davis was born in Corydon, Iowa, on July 21, 1967, the son of Daryl E. and Christol K. (Berryhill). Stan graduated from Wayne County High School in Corydon. He met Dianna Summar in Decatur, Illinois, in 1987, and they were married in 1990. Two children were born to this union: September and Joshua.
Stan spent most of his working career as a truck driver, the last six years driving for Woody Bogler, dispatched out of Owensville, Missouri. He and Dianna have lived in Putnam County several years and in Unionville since 2014. Stan enjoyed spending time with his family watching the Dallas Cowboys, the Kansas City Chiefs, and Iowa State University. He also enjoyed grilling and riding his motorcycle.
Stan is survived by his wife, Dianna, of the home; his daughter September (Ty) West of Unionville; son Joshua (significant other Kiera) Davis of Centerville, Iowa; his parents Daryl and Susan Davis of Powersville, Missouri; his in-laws, Tom and Sherry Summar of Roanoke, Virginia; one grandson, Blake, and one of the way; his brother Adam Davis of Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.
Stan was preceded in death by his mother, Christol Manahan; his grandparents, Clinton & Bernita Davis and Alma & Lloyd Berryhill; a sister, April Davis; and a brother-in-law, Mike Summar.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Playle and Collins Family Funeral Home in Unionville, MO.
Stan’s wishes were to be cremated. A memorial service is planned for a later date. Memorials are suggested to assist with funeral expenses and may be sent to Playle and Collins Family Funeral Home, 709 S. 27th St., Unionville, MO 63565.
