Robert Eugene Dale

Robert Eugene Dale, 69 of rural Queen City, Missouri passed away at the Scotland County Hospital in Memphis, Missouri on Wednesday, March 31, 2021.

The son of Albert William and Shirley Mae (Goday) Dale, he was born on June 30, 1951 in Moline, Illinois. He was a graduate of the United Township High School in East Moline, Illinois. He was employed with John Deere in Moline, Illinois for 39 years retiring in 2010. He worked as a laborer, assembly line worker, forklift operator and in the marketing department.

On August 17, 1974 in Geneseo, Illinois, he was united in marriage to Michelle Grace Neumann and to this union two children were born, Jacob Robert and Rebecca Michelle.

Robert is survived by his wife, Michelle Dale of rural Queen City, Missouri; two children, Jacob Dale and fianceé, Allison Aird of North Liberty, Iowa and Rebecca Ague and husband, Mark of Colona, Illinois; an adopted daughter, Alyne (Mabel) Ruser of the Quad Cities, Illinois; four grandchildren, Jessi, Lexie, Memphis and Kelsey Ague all of Colona, Illinois; siblings, Diana Dale of Colona, Illinois, Charles Dale of Colona, Illinois, Debra Donald and husband, Jim of Moline, Illinois, William Dale of Milan, Illinois, Marianne Bailey and husband, Michael of Nashville, Tennessee, Michael Dale of Colona, Illinois and Richard Dale of Davenport, Iowa; nieces and nephews and other family members and a host of good friends as he was a friend to all.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Patricia Mae Ketelson.

Robert and Michelle attended the St. John’s Lutheran Church, east of Queen City, Missouri. He was also a 32nd degree Mason.

Robert was an avid hunter, and one who did his own butchering. He loved to ride horses and fish. He also raised German Shepherd dogs coming from Germany. He was a true mountain man who was a self-made person. He also loved to garden, but it always seemed to get away from him! He was a devoted friend to all and one who enjoyed a good laugh!

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 5, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri with Bill Immatteo-Code, Pastor of the St. John’s Lutheran Church officiating. Musical selections of “Amazing Grace” and “In The Garden’ will be performed by soloist, Cole Tippett. Pallbearers will be Jacob Dale, Trent Haley, William Dale, Mark Ague, Donald Ropp and Robert Neumann. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral services from 10:30 until 11:30 at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri. Memorials have been established for the Schuyler County Cancer Relief Fund and to the Queen City Fire Department. Burial will be in the Jimtown Cemetery, southeast of Glenwood, Missouri.
