Marguerite Moore

Marguerite Edwina (Schmitter) Moore, 82, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Friday, April 2, 2021 at Kirksville Manor Care Center.

The daughter of the late Paul Edwin and Hildred Marguerite (Manning) Schmitter, she was born September 9, 1938 in Queen City, Missouri. On July 22, 1957 in Kirksville, Missouri, Marguerite was united in marriage to Jackie D. “Jack” Moore who preceded her in death on December 1, 2005. She was also preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Don Rowland and Clarence Begley and her sister-in-law, Coleen Begley.

Marguerite is survived by her son, Paul David Moore of Kirksville, MO; two daughters, Lisa Marie Moore of Kirksville, MO, and Teresa Kay (Ricky) Greenstreet of Kirksville, MO; two sisters, Rita (Bill) Crane of Arthur, IL, and Geraldine Rowland of Greentop, MO; two grandchildren, Jacqueline Colyer of Kirksville, MO, and Richard Greenstreet of Kirksville, MO; seven very loved great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Marguerite was a graduate from Queen City High School, attended a nursing program in St. Joseph, MO, and then received her LPN License in Kirksville, MO. She was then employed for Laughlin Hospital, KOH Hospital and last for sixteen years for Chariton Valley Association until retiring.

Marguerite enjoyed reading, camping, fishing, quilting and crocheting, but most of all she loved time spent with her family and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Marguerite was a devoted member of Mary Immaculate Catholic Church where she was a member of the Piece Maker’s Quilting Club, the Alter & Rosary Society, and with the Bible study group.

Public visitation will be held Monday, April 5, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., with a Prayer Service beginning at 5:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Kirksville, with Monsignor David Cox presiding. Interment will follow Mass at Mary Immaculate Catholic Cemetery in Kirksville.
