Marilyn Maxine Coorts

Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother – Marilyn Maxine Coorts – entered Heaven today, Friday, March 19th, 2021, to God’s awaiting arms. She was 86 years young.

Marilyn was the daughter of Lawrence W. & Ruby Utterback Karnes. She had 2 sisters: Lois R. Gentry and Betty J. Woods. She was raised in Moberly, Missouri where she attended grade school through college graduation at Moberly Junior College. While attending college she met, fell in love with, and married the love of her life, Wade M. Coorts. They were married May 8, 1954. They have been married 66 wonderful years. Marilyn and Wade were blessed with two daughters: Pamela Linnea Sees and Kathy Lynn Peterson.

Marilyn was a “people person.” She has been a long time member of Faith Lutheran Church in Kirksville, MO. She helped coordinate the “After School Care Program for Children” there. Also she has served on Stewardship committees and others. Marilyn was a caregiver to family and friends – always ready to provide meals or rides to appointments, doing whatever was needed.

Marilyn is survived by her beloved husband, Wade M. Coorts (Kirksville, MO). Daughters: Pamela L. Sees (David H. Sees, Montgomery. TX) and Kathy L. Peterson (Douglas E. Peterson, Overland Park, KS). Four Grandchildren: Richard H. Sees (Tiah Sees, Kenmore, WA); Ashley M. Davis (Jordan Davis, Shawnee, KS); Jayme E. Sinkey (Matthew Sinkey, Conroe, TX); Kaitlyn N. Hargis (Josh Hargis) (Albuquerque, NM). Nine Great- Grandchildren: Hannah Sees, Makenna Sees, Madilynn Sees, Brooklyn Davis, Bryant Davis, Blake Davis, Emma Sinkey, Luke Sinkey, and Elizah Hargis.

Visitation will be Monday, March 22, 2021 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. with funeral service at 10:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Moberly, MO.

In lieu of flowers a Memorial Fund is established for Faith Lutheran School in memory of Marilyn Coorts.
