Jean I. Richardson, 89 of Kirksville passed away Friday, March 19th, 2021 at The Pines in Kirksville.
Jean was born July 5, 1931 in Stanley, Wisconsin, the daughter of Herman and Laura (Anderson) Anason. Jean was raised on a dairy farm while going to grade school and high school. She graduated from Stanley High School in May of 1950. She went to California where she met and married Stanley W. Richardson Jr. on May 5, 1951.
They lived in Willets, California from 1950 – 1963 where her husband worked for his father in the lumber business. In 1963 she moved to Milan, MO on a farm and raised black angus and later started a grade A dairy. She worked for Hollister Inc. in Kirksville for 25 years, retiring September 10, 2002.
Jean is survived by a daughter, Sherri Richardson Kent of Green City, MO; a son, Steven Richardson of Kirksville, MO; four grandchildren, Christen Kent Potter of St. Joseph, MO, Christopher Richard Kent of Green City, MO, Jessica Gayle Prinz of Cold Spring, KY and Jennifer Kent Riemer of Overland Park, KS; seven great grandchildren and one sister, Marlene Barthelmy of Toronto, Canada.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Laura Anason; one brother, Marvin Anason; and two sisters, Lorraine Anason Malin and Geraldine Anason Porter.
Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 24th, 2021 at Park View Memorial Gardens.
