KHS Tigers Let Another One Slip Away

As Yogi is credited with saying, it was Deja Vu all over again for the Kirksville Tigers as they blew a big halftime lead and lost to Moberly 79-77. That’s after the same thing happened against Fulton on Saturday. KHS led 42-31 at the break, then Moberly outscored KHS 24-12 in the 3rd quarter to take a 55-54 lead at the end of the period. The Tigers fought back late in the fourth, but it was too much Jaisten Payne who scored 11 points in the fourth, and teammate Derieus Wallace had 10 fourth quarter points. Payne finished the game with 33 points to lead all scorers, and went 5 out of 6 at the free throw line in the fourth including 2 big ones with 6 seconds to play to put the game away. Keaton Anderson with another great game for the Tigers with 23 points, 16 each for Isaac Danielson and Dylan Kinney, Noah Copeland was the other Tiger in double figures with 13. KHS dips to 13-5 overall and 3-4 in the NCMC. Next, the long road trip to Marshall Tuesday as part of an NCMC double header.
