Farrell Taylor

Farrell W. Taylor, 85 years old, of Milan, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at Life Care Center in Brookfield, Missouri.

Farrell was born August 15, 1935 to Cecil and Leone (Maggart) Taylor, on a farm east of Browning, Missouri. On November 12, 1964 in Milan, Missouri he married Ruth Ann (Dunlap) Taylor and she survives him.

Also surviving him are his children: Deb (Ron) Duffe, Sunrise Beach, MO, Wes (Julie)Taylor, Milan, MO, Donna (Myron) White, Monmouth, IA, Tina (Mike) Tendall, Cincinnati, OH and Sissy (Junior) Clark, Unionvillle, MO; Grandchildren, Amy (Matt) Sawvell, Angie (Jesse) Wathan, Aaron (Jen) Duffe, Alli (Ben) Kisner, Chris (Charity)Taylor, Nick(Ashley) Taylor, Matt (Carrie) Taylor, Jessica (Robert) Vierhout, Danielle (Jason) Lutz, Carrie (Jason) Plymesser, Josh (Samantha) White, Heather (Dain) Heintz, Natalie (Doug) Pugar, Meghan (Matt) Gay, Pleasant Schoonover and Brielle Snow; one sister, Rosane (Elba) Turner, Davenport, IA and 29 great-grandchildren.

Farrell was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, JD Taylor.

At about the age of 17, Farrell moved to Iowa and worked for Alcoa Aluminum for 9 years before moving back to the area of Osgood, MO before buying a farm southwest of Reger, MO. In 1976, Farrell and Ruth Ann bought a new farm just south of Milan where he enjoyed farming for a number of years. Through the years he was a row crop farmer, raised hogs and cattle and was a firm believer in hard work, working all hours of the day and night as farmers do. He was well known for always having a smile on his face, for wearing his jeans cuffed at the bottom, wearing his cap bill turned up and always had candy. He also worked at the Milan Livestock Auction for a number of years and was a true cattleman. He was a previous member of the Milan Lion’s Club for many years. Enjoyed playing cards, with Pitch being his game of choice, loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and friends.

A memorial service for Farrell will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Milan. Inurnment will be at Oakwood Cemetery.
