With a bad moon rising in the eastern sky, the Kirksville Tiger football team had more tough luck than they could handle and lost to Chillicothe Friday 42-26. Chillicothe’s Javon Kille returned the opening kickoff 82 yards for a touchdown and the Hornets were off and running. The Hornets scored the game’s first four touchdowns until Jace Kent put Kirksville on the board with a 26 yard TD run midway through the second quarter. The Tigers played better in the second half, starting off with a 48 yard scamper into the end zone by Kent made it 28-12, but the Tigers would get no closer. Chillicothe controlled the line of scrimmage throughout the night and were also able to beat the Tigers over the top for a couple of long touchdown passes. Kent finished with 137 yards on 22 carries and had had three catches for 46 yards. KHS dips to 1-1 on the year and make the long sojourn to Savannah next Friday. Savannah dropped to 1-1 Friday with a 14-0 loss to East Buchanan.
