Yvonne Miller, 89, of Unionville, Missouri, passed away at the Putnam County Care Center in Unionville on Tuesday, November 9, 2021. She had been a resident there for a brief time.
Yvonne Lee Miller was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on October 29, 1932, the daughter of Ed and Ruth (Simmons) MacLachlan, who preceded her in death. She was reared in Kansas City and graduated from Central High School in 1949. Yvonne married Billy J. Miller at the Central Christian Church in Kansas City on January 10, 1954, after Bill had been discharged from the service. Yvonne and Bill lived most of their married life in Kansas City and Independence. Yvonne was a devoted wife and mother who loved caring for her family. She and Bill moved to Lake Thunderhead in Unionville upon Bill’s retirement in 1991. They were both active members of the Unionville First Christian Church where Yvonne used her gift of hospitality to coordinate funeral dinners and other fellowship events. She had a sweet spirit and kind heart.
Yvonne is survived by two sons, Michael (Lisa) Miller of Ft. Collins, Colorado, and Steve (RoAnn) Miller of Lubbock, Texas. Eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren also survive.
Yvonne was preceded in death by husband Bill on September 4, 2021. Her wishes were to be cremated and she and Bill will be laid to rest together at a future date at the Clarence (Missouri) Cemetery.
