Washington 6 – BUFFALO 4… T.J. Oshie scored a goal and had two assists for the Capitals.

Boston 3 – NEW JERSEY 2 (SO)… Brad Marchand had a goal and an assist before netting the decisive goal in the shootout.

N.Y. Islanders 4 – N.Y. RANGERS 0… Goalie Semyon Varlamov stopped all 24 shots in the shutout. Anders Lee found the net twice for the Islanders.

Carolina 3 – Detroit 0… The Hurricanes held the Red Wings to just 14 shots on goal. Nino Niederreiter netted the only goal Carolina needed early in the first period.

NASHVILLE 3 – Columbus 1… Filip Forsberg and Calle Jarnkrok scored third-period goals to send the Predators past the Blue Jackets.

WINNIPEG 4 – Calgary 3 (OT)… The Jets erased a 3-1 second-period deficit in outlasting the Flames. Patrik Laine found the net in the first period and added the winning goal in overtime.

EDMONTON 5 – Vancouver 2… Connor McDavid scored three goals and assisted on another in leading the Oilers past the Canucks. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins added two goals and an assist. Leon Draisaitl assisted on four goals.

San Jose 4 – ARIZONA 3 (SO)… The Sharks recovered to top the Coyotes after blowing an early two-goal lead. Ryan Donato and Logan Couture scored in the shootout. Tomas Hertl netted two first-period goals.

VEGAS 5 – Anaheim 2… Mark Stone scored a tie-breaking goal early in the third period to help push the Golden Knights past the Ducks. Stone also assisted on a Max Pacioretty goal.

Minnesota 4 – LOS ANGELES 3 (OT)… The Wild came from two goals down in the third period to upend the Kings. Kirill Kaprizov scored the winning goal at 3:47 of overtime. Marcus Foligno’s goal tied the game with 10:18 left in regulation.
