NATIONAL LEAGUE
L.A. Dodgers 8 – PITTSBURGH 7… Chris Taylor connected for a go-ahead three-run homer in the top of the eighth inning and the Dodgers hung on to edge the Pirates. Miguel Vargas stroked a two-run double in the first.

Washington 5 – N.Y. METS 0… Jon Gray (1-4) held the Mets to four hits and struck out nine over six innings and reliever Mason Thompson did the rest as the Nationals blanked the Mets. Keibert Ruiz homered and Luis Garcia doubled home two runs for Washington.

ATLANTA 7 – Miami 4… Ozzie Albies hit a pair of solo homers and Eddie Rosario also homered with the bases empty as the Braves downed the Marlins. Charlie Morton (3-2) gave up a run on three hits over seven innings.

CHI. CUBS 6 – San Diego 0… Justin Steele (3-0) pitched three-hit ball over 5-1/3 innings and three relievers did the rest in the Cubs’ blanking of the Padres. Yan Gomes went 4-for-4 with a two-run homer and an RBI single. Nico Hoerner capped the scoring with a bases-clearing triple in the bottom of the eighth inning.

SAN FRANCISCO 5 – St. Louis 4… Mike Yastrzemski doubled home a run and Blake Sabol followed with a walkoff, two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning as the Giants rallied past the Cardinals. Yastrzemski also homered with the bases empty.

AMERICAN LEAGUE
Boston 8 – BALTIMORE 6… Jarren Duran unloaded a grand slam in the top of the third inning and the Red Sox went on to end the Orioles’ seven-game winning streak.  Corey Kluber (1-4) gave up a run on five hits over six innings.

Houston 5 – TAMPA BAY 0… Luis Garcia (2-2) pitched three-hit ball and fanned nine over six innings before getting help from three Astros relievers in the blanking of the Rays. Five different players drove in runs as Houston did all its scoring in the top of the fifth inning.

TORONTO 7 – Chi. White Sox 0… Blue Jays starter Jose Berrios (2-3) limited the White Sox to four hits over seven innings and two relievers completed the shutout. Matt Jensen homered twice and knocked in four runs. Kevin Kiermaier legged out a two-run triple.

MINNESOTA 6 – N.Y. Yankees 2… Byron Buxton hit a go-ahead two-run homer and Trevor Larnach also homered with a runner aboard during a four-run bottom of the sixth inning that carried the Twins past the Yankees. Joe Ryan (5-0) allowed a run on seven hits over seven innings.

L.A. ANGELS 5 – Oakland 3… Brandon Drury tripled home two runs and scored on Luis Rengifo’s single during a four-run bottom of the first inning that gave the Angels the lead for good in their defeat of the Athletics. Gio Urshela had a couple of hits and drove in a run.

INTERLEAGUE
Colorado 5 – CLEVELAND 1… Charlie Blackmon smacked a solo homer in the top of the first inning and doubled home a run in the second to provide all the offense the Rockies needed in their win over the Guardians. Ryan Feltner (2-2) scattered five hits over six shutout innings.

CINCINNATI 7 – Texas 6… The Reds rallied from six runs down in the seventh inning to upend the Rangers. Jonathan India’s two-run single capped a six-run bottom of the eighth inning. Jake Fraley’s pinch-hit two-run double helped spark the rally.

Seattle 5 – PHILADELPHIA 3… Jarred Kelenic homered, doubled and singled to lead the Mariners past the Phillies. Teoscar Hernández added a two-run homer. Marco Gonzales (2-0) surrendered a run on four hits over five innings.

Detroit 4 – MILWAUKEE 3… Kerry Carpenter blasted a three-run homer and Spencer Torkelson singled home a run as the Tigers scored all four runs in the top of the fourth inning and held off the Brewers. Matt Vierling banged out three of Detroit’s 12 hits.

Kansas City 5 – ARIZONA 4… Kyle Isbel raced home with the decisive run on a wild pitch in the top of the eighth inning as the Royals held off the Diamondbacks. Edward Olivares, Michael Massey and Nicky Lopez each had a couple of hits and an RBI. Brady Singer (2-2) allowed a run on five hits over six innings.
