NATIONAL LEAGUE
PHILADELPHIA 9 – Colorado 3… The Phillies got two-run homers from Bryson Stott and Brandon Marsh in their pounding of the Rockies. Trea Turner and Kody Clemens also went deep.
PITTSBURGH 2 – Cincinnati 0… Vince Velasquez (3-2) pitched two-hit ball over seven innings and two Pirates relievers completed the shutout of the Reds. Jack Suwinski doubled home a run for Pittsburgh.
L.A. Dodgers 7 – CHI. CUBS 3… Mookie Betts homered with a runner aboard and doubled home two runs to lead the Dodgers past the Cubs. Max Muncy added a two-run shot and J.D. Martinez homered with the bases empty.
San Diego 7 – ARIZONA 5… Matt Carpenter went 3-for-3 with a homer and five RBIs in leading the Padres past the Diamondbacks. Jake Cronenworth had a couple of hits and knocked in two runs. Yu Darvish (1-2) allowed a run on three hits over 5-2/3 innings.
SAN FRANCISCO 5 – N.Y. Mets 4… Mike Yastrzemski doubled home Joc Pederson with a tie-breaking run in the bottom of the eighth inning and the Giants made it stand in downing the Mets. Thairo Estrada hit a solo homer.
AMERICAN LEAGUE
BALTIMORE 2 – Detroit 1 (10 innings)… Adam Frazier raced home with the winning run on a wild pitch in the bottom of the 10th inning to send the Orioles past the Tigers for their sixth straight win. Anthony Santander doubled home a tying run in the eighth.
Toronto 5 – N.Y. YANKEES 1… Kevin Gausman (2-2) limited the Yankees to three hits over seven shutout innings and the Blue Jays cruised to the win. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. opened the scoring with a two-run homer in the to of the sixth inning and Daulton Varsho followed with a solo blast.
TAMPA BAY 4 – Chi. White Sox 1… The Rays cruised past the White Sox and extended their home winning streak to 13 games. Zach Eflin (3-0) surrendered a run on three hits over five innings. Luke Raley provided all the offense Tampa Bay needed with a two-run homer in the bottom of the second inning. Harold Ramirez smacked a solo shot in the third.
TEXAS 5 – Oakland 2… Robbie Grossman belted a three-run homer in the bottom of the second inning and lifted a sacrifice fly in the fourth to lead the Rangers past the Athletics. Jacob deGrom (2-1) gave up a run on three hits and struck out 11 over six innings.
L.A. ANGELS 4 – Kansas City 3… The Angels got consecutive homers from Taylor Ward, Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani in the bottom of the sixth inning to take the lead for good in their defeat of the Royals. Ohtani also lifted a sacrifice fly.
INTERLEAGUE
Houston 5 – ATLANTA 2… The Astros erased a two-run deficit after seven innings to top the Braves for their fourth straight win. Yordan Alvarez stroked a game-tying two-run double in the top of the eighth inning. Corey Julks singled home a go-ahead run and scored on Alex Bregman’s two-run single in the ninth.
CLEVELAND 7 – Miami 4… Jose Ramirez hit a two-run homer and drove in four runs as the Guardians downed the Marlins. Amed Rosario went 4-for-5 and scored four runs. Josh Bell homered and doubled home a run.
Boston 12 – MILWAUKEE 5… Mastataka Yoshida homered twice to highlight a nine-run top of the eighth inning that carried the Red Sox past the Brewers. Justin Turner also went deep for Boston.
MINNESOTA 3 – Washington 1… Jorge Polanco and Michael A. Taylor connected for solo homers in the top of the fourth inning to provide the Twins with all the offense they needed in their defeat of the Nationals. Bailey Ober (1-0) held Washington to a run on three hits over 5-2/3 innings.
St. Louis 7 – SEATTLE 3… Lars Nootbaar homered on the first pitch of the game and Nolan Gorman added a tie-breaking three-run blast in the the top of the fourth inning to power the Cardinals past the Mariners. Paul DeJong also went deep for St. Louis.
