NHL FIRST-ROUND PLAYOFF SCORES…
Carolina 5 – N.Y. ISLANDERS 2… The Hurricanes breezed past the Islanders to take a 3-1 lead in the first-round series. Seth Jarvis found the net twice. Sebastian Aho had a goal and two assists. Goalie Antti Raanta stopped 27 shots. The series returns to Raleigh for Game 5 tomorrow.

Boston 6 – FLORIDA 2… The Bruins buried the Panthers with a four-goal third period and have taken a 3-1 lead in the first-round series. Jake DeBrusk and Taylor Hall scored two goals apiece. Hall also had two assists. Linus Ullmark made 42 saves at goal. The series returns to Boston for Game 5 on Wednesday.

Dallas 3 – MINNESOTA 2… The Stars got a pair of power-play goals from Tyler Seguin and held off the Wild to even the series at 2-2. Evgenii Dadonov also scored for Dallas. Goalie Jake Oettinger made 33 stops. The series returns to Dallas for Game 5 tomorrow.

Edmonton 5 – LOS ANGELES 4 (OT)… The Oilers came from three goals down after the first period to outlast the Kings. Zach Hyman netted the winning goal at 10:39 of overtime. Leon Draisaitl scored a pair of second-period goals. The series returns to Edmonton for tomorrow’s Game 5.
