Centralia Ends Lady Tigers Season

The Kirksville Lady Tigers saw their season come to an end Thursday in the district semifinals 52-39 to top seed Centralia. KHS played the Panthers tough in the first quarter, taking a 15-9 lead. Then the second quarter is when Centralia got on track, outscoring KHS 17-4 to take a 26-19 lead at the half. Kirksville trailed by ten at the end of three, got to within 5 early in the fourth, but Centralia pulled away for the 52-39 win. Kirksville turned the ball over 17 times and the Panthers took advantage, finding Harper Sontheimer down low several times and scored 13 points. Elli Porter led all scorers with 15, Jada Jackson with 10. Kirksville’s season ends at 14-13. Channing Totta played her final game as a Lady Tiger. Friday, the Tigers battle Hallsville for the boys championship, tip off at 6:00 on KIRX.
