Elli Porter, Lady Tigers Roll Into District Semifinals

The Kirksville Lady Tigers dominated from the start and beat Macon 47-31 Tuesday in the first round of the Class 4 District 8 Tournament in Centralia. Elli Porter had all of Kirksville’s 12 first quarter points as the Lady Tigers took a 12-5 lead at the end of the period. Kirksville took a 22-10 lead into the locker room. Macon got to within 10 points in the 4th quarter, but big 3 by Channing Totta extended the lead to 13 and KHS wins it 47-31. Porter finished with 31 points, taking full advantage of how Macon was defending her, Paishynce Fouts finished with 9 points, all three’s, Totta with 6 points and Lauren Fortney had a free throw. KHS gets to 14-12, assuring themselves of a winning record, and now move on to play top seed Centralia Thursday at 6:00 on KIRX.
