Lady Tigers Fall Short At Moberly

The Kirksville Lady Tigers fought hard against a very good team, but Moberly pulled away down the stretch to outlast KHS 61-49. Kirksville tied the game at 41-41 at one point in the second half before the Spartans outscored KHS 20-8 the rest of the way. Moberly’s Kennedy Messer delivered the knockout punch at the free throw line, going 9 out of 10 in the fourth quarter to end any comeback chance for Kirksville. Grace Billington led all scorers with 30 points, and she was 9 for 10 at the line, as well. Elli Porter led Kirksville with 21 points, she was 6 of 9 from the free throw line. Jada Jackson was the other Lady Tiger in double digits with 12. KHS dips to 1-3 overall, 0-1 in the NCMC. Next, it’s a road trip to Mexico Tuesday as part of a double header, air time around 6:05.
