NATIONAL LEAGUE
PHILADELPHIA 4 – Cincinnati 1… Noah Syndergaard (8-8) held the Reds to a run on three hits over seven innings and the Phillies cruised to the win. Nick Castellanos homered with the bases empty and doubled home a run. Bryson Stott also went deep.

Atlanta 2 – PITTSBURGH 1… Michael Harris’ II’s two-run homer in the top of the fifth inning provided all the offense the Braves needed in their win over the Pirates. Jake Odorizzi (5-5) allowed just a run on four hits over six innings in outdueling counterpart Roansy Contreras (4-6).

St. Louis 1 – CHI. CUBS 0… Jordan Montgomery (7-3) went the distance in a one-hit shutout of the Cubs. He struck out seven and didn’t walk a batter. Albert Pujols’ homered in the top of the seventh inning to account for the game’s only run.

Milwaukee 4 – L.A. DODGERS 0… Eric Lauer (9-5) scattered five hits over five innings and four relievers completed the Brewers’ shutout of the Dodgers. Luis Urías homered in the top of the fourth inning and Keston Hiura added a solo shot to cap a three-run ninth.

AMERICAN LEAGUE
KANSAS CITY 6 – Chi. White Sox 4… Waters drew a bases-loaded walk and MJ Melendez lifted a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth inning as the Royals put away the White Sox after blowing a four-run lead. Salvador Perez’s RBI single sparked a four-run first.

TAMPA BAY 2 – L.A. Angels 1… Randy Arozarena smacked a tie-breaking solo homer in the bottom of the fifth inning and the Rays made it stand in edging the Angels. Jeffrey Springs (6-3) allowed a run on five hits over 5-2/3 innings and three relievers shut the door.

Texas 2 – MINNESOTA 1… Adolis Garcia led off the top of the fifth inning with a game-tying homer and Corey Seager singled home the decisive run in the sixth as the Rangers squeezed past the Twins. Four Texas relievers held Minnesota scoreless on two hits over the finals five innings.

INTERLEAGUE
N.Y. YANKEES 4 – N.Y. Mets 2… Domingo Germán (2-2) took a shutout into the seventh inning and the Yankees held off the Mets. Andrew Benintendi knocked in two runs with a double and a single. Aaron Judge homered with the bases empty.

Miami 3 – OAKLAND 0… Edward Cabrera (4-1) pitched two-hit ball over eight innings and got help from reliever Tanner Scott in the Marlins’ blanking of the Athletics. Charles Leblanc homered to lead off the top of the second inning and Miami got RBI doubles from Brian Anderson and JJ Bleday.
