NATIONAL LEAGUE
Milwaukee 12 – PITTSBURGH 8… Willy Adames homered twice, doubled and drove in seven runs as the Brewers outslugged the Pirates. Omar Narvaez produced a pair of run-scoring singles.
San Diego 9 – CINCINNATI 6… The Padres erupted to score eight runs in the top of the fourth inning and never looked back in downing the Reds. Eric Hosmer hit his first homer of the season and Jake Cronenworth added a bases-loaded triple during the rally.
PHILADELPHIA 10 – Colorado 3… Odubel Herrera homered, doubled and drove in three runs as the Phillies pounded the Rockies. Zach Eflin (1-1) limited Colorado to a run on two hits over six innings.
Miami 5 – WASHINGTON 2… Joey Wendle cracked a three-run homer in the top of the first inning and the Marlins dealt the Nationals their sixth straight loss. Outfielders Jesús Sánchez and Avisail García each threw out a runner at the plate in the inning’s bottom half. Sandy Alcantara (2-0) allowed a run on six hits over six innings.
ATLANTA 3 – Chi. Cubs 1… Travis Demeritte hit a tie-breaking solo homer in the bottom of the fifth inning and Ozzie Albies added an RBI single as the Braves squeaked by the Cubs. Max Fried (2-2) gave up a run on four hits over six innings.
N.Y. Mets 3 – ST. LOUIS 0… Chris Bassitt (3-1) pitched two-hit ball over six innings and three relievers completed the Mets’ shutout of the Cardinals. James McCann doubled home a run and Starling Marte stroked a run-scoring single. Marte also was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.
ARIZONA 5 – L.A. Dodgers 3… The Diamondbacks erased a three-run deficit to down the Dodgers. David Peralta connected for a tie-breaking two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning.
AMERICAN LEAGUE
Seattle 8 – TAMPA BAY 4… The Marlins scored seven runs in the top of the fourth inning on their way to doubling up on the Rays. Adam Frazier struck the big blow with a three-run double. Logan Gilbert (3-0) pitched two-hit ball over 5-2/3 shutout innings.
N.Y. YANKEES 12 – Baltimore 8… Anthony Rizzo homered three times and knocked in six runs to power the Yankees past the Orioles. Joey Gallo also went deep. Luis Severino (2-0) took a no-hitter into the sixth inning for New York.
TORONTO 6 – Boston 5 (10 innings)… Raimel Taipa lifted a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 10th inning to score Bo Bichette with the winning run in the Maple Leafs’ win over the Red Sox. George Springer blasted a game-tying two-out, two-run homer in the ninth.
Kansas City 6 – CHI. WHITE SOX 0… Daniel Lynch (2-1) surrendered just two hits over six innings and two relievers did the rest in the Royals’ blanking of the White Sox. Carlos Santana lined a two-run single. Andrew Benintendi and Bobby Witt Jr. each had a couple of hits and an RBI.
MINNESOTA 5 – Detroit 4… Trevor Larnash and Gio Urshela scored the tying and winning runs in the bottom of the ninth inning when Tigers catcher Eric Haase made a throwing error on a botched rundown. Max Kepler knocked in Minnesota’s first three runs with a homer and a double.
Houston 5 – TEXAS 1… Kyle Tucker homered and drove in three runs as the Astros cruised past the Rangers. Jake Odorizzi (1-2) held Texas to a run on a hit over six innings.
L.A. ANGELS 4 – Cleveland 1… Patrick Sandoval (1-0) blanked the Guardians on two hits over seven innings and the Angels breezed to the win. Mike Trout homered and drove in three runs.
INTERLEAGUE
SAN FRANCISCO 8 – Oakland 2… Wilmer Flores homered and drove in four runs to lead the Giants past the Athletics. Austin Slater also went deep. Carlos Rodón (3-0) allowed a run on three hits over six innings.
