Blues Fall At Colorado

COLORADO 5 – St. Louis 3… The Avalanche got the better of the blues to snap their four-game skid. Valeri Nickushkin had a goal and an assist. Alex Newhook assisted on two goals. Goalie Darcy Kuemper made 29 stops.

 

BOSTON 4 – Florida 2… The Bruins downed the Panthers to clinch the first wild card in the Eastern Conference playoffs. Jake DeBrusk netted a tie-breaking goal in the second period. Erik Haula and Taylor Hall scored six seconds apart in the first period.

OTTAWA 5 – New Jersey 4 (OT)… Drake Batherson found the net in overtime to lift the Senators over the Devils. Batherson also scored in regulation, Tim Stutzle also netted two goals. Brady Tkachuk assisted on three goals. Goalie Anton Forsberg made 37 saves.

TAMPA BAY 4 – Columbus 1… Steven Stamkos scored two goals and assisted on two others as the Lightning skated past the Blue Jackets. Nikita Kucherov had a goal and three assists.

Carolina 4 – N.Y. RANGERS 3… The Hurricanes held off the Rangers to clinch the Metropolitan Division title. Vincent Trochek had a goal and an assist. Brady Skjei had two assists. Rookie Pyotr Kochetkov stopped 31 shots.

Edmonton 5 – PITTSBURGH 1… Connor McDavid scored a goal and had three assists as the Oilers cruised past the Penguins. Goalie Mike Smith stopped 33 shots to win his ninth straight start.

N.Y. Islanders 4 – WASHINGTON 1… The Islanders breezed past the Capitals after spotting them an early lead. Ryan Pulock and Noah Dobson scored power-play goals. Casey Cizikas scored short-handed. Goalie Ilya Sorokin stopped 32 shots.

TORONTO 3 – Detroit 0… Jack Campbell stopped all 20 shots for his fifth shutout of the season and the Maples Leafs topped the Red Wings. Auston Matthews scored his NHL-leading 59th and 60th goals of the season.

Calgary 5 – NASHVILLE 4 (OT)… Elias Lindholm’s overtime goal gave the Flames a come-from-behind win over the Predators. Matthew Tkachuk scored with a second remaining in regulation to force the extra period. Dillon Dube scored twice and Noah Hanifin also had a goal for Calgary.

Arizona 5 – MINNESOTA 3… The last-place Coyotes struck a blow to the Wild’s hope of landing home-ice advantage for the first round of the playoffs. Travis Boyd scored the go-ahead goal to highlight a four-goal third period. Karel Vejmelka stopped 34 shots at goal.

DALLAS 3 – Vegas 2 (SO)… Miro Heiskanen scored the lone goal in a seven-round shootout and the Stars outlasted the Golden Knights in a matchup of teams battling for playoff spots. Jason Robertson scored twice for Dallas. Goalie Jake Oettinger made 33 saves.

VANCOUVER 5 – Seattle 2… The Canucks opened with a three-goal first period and never looked back in their win over the Kraken. Quinn Hughes had a goal and two assists. Conor Garland assisted on three goals.

Anaheim 5 – SAN JOSE 2… Max Comtois and Sonny Milano scored less than a minute apart in the second period and the Ducks went on to down the Sharks. Trevor Zegras and Josh Mahura also scored and Zach Aston-Reese had an empty-netter. Goalie Anthony Stolarz made 31 saves.
