N.Y. Islanders 4 – PITTSBURGH 3 (OT)… Kyle Palmieri scored his second goal of the game 16:30 into overtime to send the Islanders past the Penguins in the opener of their first-round playoff series. Jean-Gabriel Pageau had a goal and an assist. Game 2 is tomorrow in Pittsburgh.
Minnesota 1 – VEGAS 0 (OT)… Joel Eriksson Ek scored at 3:20 of overtime to lift the Wild over the Golden Knights in Game 1 of their first-round playoff series. Goalie Cam Talbott stopped all 42 shots. Game 2 is tomorrow in Las Vegas.
Tampa Bay 5 – Florida 4… Brayden Point netted back-to-back goals late in the third period to rally the Lightning past the Panthers in the first-round playoff series opener. Nikita Kucherov scored a pair of power-play goals in the second period. Game 2 is tomorrow in Miami.
