Margaret Louise Thompson, 87 years old, of Kirksville, Missouri, entered eternal life Sunday, April 25th, 2021. Surrounded by her loving family.
Margaret was born November 27th, 1933 in Sullivan county, Missouri to Frederick and Eulah (Morris) Snow. She was united in marriage to Thomas Robert (Bobb) Thompson on April 1st, 1949. Bobb preceded her in death in 1986. She was also preceded in death by: Her parents, 4 brothers; Frederick Snow, Jr., Melvin Eugene Snow, William L. Snow, and R. Clayton Snow; 2 sisters Juanita Fern Snow and Rose LaBard; One grandson, Adam Murphy; and one great grandson Levi Fenton.
Margaret is survived by: Three daughters, Marjorie DeGreef of Green City, Missouri, Mary Murphy and husband Tandy of Kirksville, and Roberta Santee and husband Kenneth of Green City; an adopted daughter, Melissa Thompson of Kirksville; 9 Grandchildren, Tuesday Russell, April Martin, Tim (Heather) Murphy, Robyn (Jeff) Bragg, Ryan (Jennifer) Murphy, Michael (Ramona) Santee, and Michelle (Shelby) Vandevender; 15 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; one sister, Barbara Thomas of California; and several nieces and nephews.
Margaret grew up in Sullivan County moving to Kirksville in 1955. She returned to the family homestead after retirement in 1975. She was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Margaret enjoyed gardening, her beautiful flowers, and being outdoors. She loved all Gods creatures, nurturing all the strays that came into her life. She was passionate about genealogy and sharing stories of her heritage. Margaret’s most precious moments were spent with her family.
She lived her life diligently expressing her spiritual virtues of compassion, kindness, forgiveness and unwavering love. Her unconditional love and steadfast devotion will be dearly missed by all those who loved her. And of course, so will her famous cinnamon buns and light-bread.
A visitation for Margaret will be held 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, April 23rd, 2021 at Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Green City. A visitation will be held 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 1st, 2021 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Kirksville, Missouri, with a service to follow at 10:00 AM. A graveside service will them be held at 2:00 on Saturday at the Thompson Cemetery in Sullivan County.
