Virginia Louise (Lawrence) Lloyd

Virginia Louise (Lawrence) Lloyd, 89, of Greentop, Missouri, passed away Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Putnam County Memorial Hospital in Unionville, Missouri.

The daughter of the late Ervin Denzil and Essie Frances (Lawson) Lawrence, she was born March 24, 1932 in Green Grove, Missouri. On June 3, 1950 in Kirksville, Missouri, Virginia was united in marriage to Elvin Dale Lloyd who preceded her in death on November 30, 2005. She was also preceded in death by two sons, David and Leon Lloyd; five brothers, Willard, Omar, Gerald, Dean, and Eugene; one sister, Alberta Lee; four nephews, Greg, Dicky, and Kent Lawrence, and Dennis Lee, and one niece, Lila Jean Bunch.

Virginia is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Loren and Karen Lloyd of Martinstown, MO; daughter-in-law, Donna Lloyd of Martinstown, MO; one brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Kathy Lawrence of Greentop, MO; two sisters-in-law, Velva Lawrence and Willadean Lawrence both of Kirksville, MO; four grandchildren, Brenda (Ed) Neighbor, Kevin (Liz) Lloyd, Jeremy (Ashley) Lloyd, and Mark Lloyd; seven great-grandchildren, Gustin (Victoria) Richardson, Ian Neighbor, Audrey Lloyd, Kelly Lloyd, Tyson Lloyd, Olivia Lloyd, and Hayden Lloyd; one great great-grandchild, Margaret Jane Richardson, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

Virginia resided her entire life in Putnam and Adair counties and was a graduate from Novinger High School. She was employed for Florsheim Shoe Factory, Toastmaster, Inc., Donaldson, Inc. and last for a number of years in food service at Truman State University until retiring.

Virginia enjoyed quilting, playing cards, riding motorcycles with Elvin, making maple syrup and Sorghum, and loved cooking for and visiting with her family and friends. Virginia will be remembered for being one in a million with a heart of gold.

Virginia was a clerk for Elm Township for many years, was a member of Northeast Missouri Motorcycle Touring Club, Senior Circle, Red Hat Ladies, and was a devoted member of the Greentop Baptist Church.

Public visitation will be held Sunday, May 2, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 3, 2021 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Darrell Crooks officiating. Interment will follow the service at Lone Pine Cemetery, north of Martinstown.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Lloyd, Jeremy Lloyd, Mark Lloyd, Darren Crooks, Rick Lee, and Steve Lawrence. Honorary pallbearers will be Ian Neighbor, Gustin Richardson, Hayden Lloyd and Tyson Lloyd.
