Harold G. Foreman

Harold G. Foreman, age 90, well known former Knox County resident and Sheriff passed away at his home in Kirksville, MO on April 23, 2021, after battling cancer for three years. He and his identical twin brother, Gerald were born at Leonard, MO on August 16, 1930 to Vincil Webster and Nina Frances Fuller Foreman.

He was united in marriage to Marjorie Wilkerson at Shelbina, MO on August 12, 1956 and they became the parents of two children Jerry Don and Gaylene.

Surviving are his wife Marjorie Foreman of Kirksville, MO, one son Jerry Don Foreman of Novelty, MO, one daughter Gaylene (David) Morgret of Kirksville, MO, two sisters Mary Jane Gaines of Shelbyville, MO and Betty (Gerald) Perry of Novelty, MO, three sisters-in-law, Jeanette Foreman of Kirksville, MO, Jane Foreman of Lawson, MO and Kathryn Wilkerson of Novelty, MO and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Harold was preceded by his parents, three brothers, Bill, Larry and twin Gerald Foreman, brothers-in-law, Estel Gaines, Junior, Bill and Donnie Wilkerson, sisters-in-law Hazel and Phyllis Wilkerson and Rosie Foreman.

Harold attended elementary school at Leonard, MO and then transferred to Novelty where he graduated from high school in 1948. Harold enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1952 and served four years, serving one year in Greenland. He was discharged in 1956, then bought the service station in Novelty which he operated for several years. In 1978, he ran for Sheriff of Knox County and served three terms. He was then employed in security at Truman State University at Kirksville for three years before retiring. The last several years he and his wife have resided in Kirksville, MO. Harold was a sixty-year member of the Ira Barclay American Legion Post # 290 at Novelty, MO. He was a member of the Novelty Christian Church. Harold enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, spending time at the farm and listening to St. Louis Cardinals baseball.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at 12 noon and funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Burial will be in the Novelty Cemetery.

Reverend Paul Milliken will officiate the services. Musical selections will be Precious Memories, Peace In The Valley and When We All Get To Heaven.

Casket bearers will be Randy Perry, Kevin Foreman, Bobby Gaines, Jimmy Gaines, David Morgret, Billy Joe Wilkerson and Carrol Wayne Wilkerson.
