Mary Jane Pinson

Mary Jane Pinson, age 88 passed away Monday evening, January 18, 2021 at the LaBelle Manor Care Center after a brave battle with Covid-19 and other complications.

She was born May 3, 1932, in Winchester, Illinois, the daughter of Lewis Roy and Lola Lucille Day. She grew up during the depression in rural Illinois attending several schools as her family moved for work. They bought a farm in Edina, MO where she moved at the age of 16. Mary Jane graduated from Edina High School in 1950 and St. Mary Hospital School of Nursing 1953 in Quincy, IL. with a degree as a Registered Nurse. She married LeRoy Pinson on Valentine’s Day 1954, and they enjoyed 49 years together. Mary Jane worked at St. Mary Hospital in Quincy, IL and Laughlin Hospital in Kirksville, MO until after the birth of her children. She and her husband were involved in variety of business’ and she did the bookkeeping. Pinson Bros Trucking, Edina Livestock, Kiefer Trailers sales plus their Cow/Calf Production. She had a clean house and immaculate yard where she enjoyed planting flowers and a large garden. Mary Jane raised her family in the First Baptist Church in Edina. She later attended and became a member of the Edina Assembly of God Church, which she loved dearly. She was active in the Nursing Club, Red Hats, as a volunteer at the Blood Mobile, Health Dept. and helped with many church meals and activities. She loved her family and took care of her aging parents and disabled sister. In 2011 she moved to Columbia with her daughter and son-in-law where she enjoyed going out to eat, shopping, day trips and being with family, especially her grandsons. She developed dementia which progressed rapidly in 2016.

Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Marion “LeRoy” Pinson, one son Kenneth Lee “Kenny” Pinson and one sister Judith Lucille “Judy” Day.

Survivors include her daughter Lois Huchteman and husband Daryl of Columbia, MO; One sister; Patricia Ann Pinson of Edina, MO; Three grandsons; Jared Ingalls and wife Seanacie of Columbia, MO, Jason Ingalls of Lakeland, GA and step grandson Corey Huchteman and wife Keli of Edina, MO; Two great-grandsons; Maximus Ingalls and Alexander Ingalls of Columbia, MO.

No visitation due to Covid-19. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, January 25, 2021, in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Reverend David Atkins will officiate the services. Graveside services and burial will be in the Linville Cemetery also in Edina.

Casket bearers; Jared Ingalls, Jason Ingalls, Corey Huchteman, Stanley Weiler, Craig Miller, David Pinson and Gary Pinson. Honorary pallbearers; Delbert Hawkins, Gale Gordon and Ray Prebe.
