Gail Lee Dixson, age 89, of Edina, MO, passed away Thursday December 17, 2020, in LaBelle Manor, LaBelle, MO. He was born July 13, 1931, in Lewis County, MO the son of Roy Martin and Irene L. Overstreet Dixson. He was united in marriage to Floy Anna Goodwin on March 24, 1991 and she preceded him in death on April 9, 1996. Gail was also preceded by his parents, and brothers, Donald and Lawrence Dixson.
Surviving are three children, Susan Elaine (Rick) Kingslan of Omaha, NE, James Martin Dixson of Palm Springs, CA, and Mary Elizabeth Dixson of Omaha, NE, one brother Dale Dixson of Novelty, MO, one sister Dorothy (Bob) Johnson of Quincy, IL, two step brothers Ronnie Campbell of Bloomfield, IA and Eldon (Jane) Campbell of Edina, MO, one step sister Sharon (Larry) Phillips of Olathe, KS, three grandchildren, Mark, Kristin and Amanda Kingslan, five great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews including Chris (Jamie) Campbell of Edina, MO.
Gail received his education in Knox County, MO. He served his country in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1955. Gail was employed as an accountant for International Harvester for over 30 years retiring in 1987. After his retirement Gail moved to Edina where he lived west of Edina farming and raising alfalfa. Gail enjoyed fishing, watching golf and football, grilling, and socializing with family and friends. Gail was a member of the South Side Boat Club and Twin Oaks Club in Quincy, IL, and a member of the Edina Bow and Gun Club and Knox County Memorial Post # 4822 V.F.W.
A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, December 28, 2020, with family receiving friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Burial with full military honors will be held at a later date in the LaBelle Cemetery.
