Elizabeth Marie Beeson

Elizabeth Marie Beeson, age 80 of Atlanta, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Boone Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

Born July 12, 1940 in Kirksville, Missouri, the third daughter of Wilmer and Marjorie (Dasch) Smithson. On November 9, 1958 she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Wayne Beeson who survives.

Also surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Kyle Palmer of Warrensburg, Missouri; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Leannette Beeson of Salem, Missouri; grandchildren, Tabitha (Matt) Jones of Clinton, Missouri, Brooke Beeson of Maryland Heights, Missouri, Travis (Kaitlyn) Palmer of Warrensburg, Missouri, Blake (Kaleigh) Beeson of Nixa, Missouri, and Cooper Beeson of Salem, Missouri; great grandchildren, Adalynn and Avery Jones and Reed Palmer; one sister, Eleanor (Jack) Caldwell of Mountain View, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Pam (Norman) Wright of Moberly, Missouri; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Her parents and one sister, Beverly Duncan preceded her in death.

Elizabeth lived her entire life in Macon County. She was a 1958 graduate of Atlanta High School. Elizabeth and Wayne made their home west of Atlanta on the family farm. After her children were raised and out of the house, she started a career as a bookkeeper for Jepson Lumber Company in Atlanta and Kirksville, Missouri that lasted for 25 years before retirement.

Elizabeth’s greatest joy came from her family as she enjoyed spending time with them traveling to Branson for family vacation, visiting, playing cards, eating with her family, and watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Elizabeth was an immersed believer in Christ, and worshipped at Callao Christian Church. She raised her family in the church, teaching them to trust God. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Private family funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 21, 2020 at Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri.
