Bonnie Rusk

Bonnie Rusk, 85 of Washington, formerly of Trenton, Missouri and Centerville, Iowa, passed away Monday, October 19, 2020.

Bonnie was born May 30, 1935 in Charleston, MO, the daughter of Clarence and Pearl Groves George. She married Billy John Baker, and they had two daughters together. Billy passed away in 1990. She married George Rusk on September 8, 2012.

She was preceded in death by: her husband George Rusk of Trenton, MO; daughter Barbara McCormick of Glendale, AZ; sisters Charlotte Juanita George of Massillon, OH; Geneva Lavern (George) Bush of Kansas City, KS; Margie George of Bertrand, MO; Norma Stephens-Mathess of Canton, OH; brothers Harold Ray George of Canton, Ohio; and Hubert George of CA.

Bonnie is survived by her loving daughter, Lisa (Baker) Trusty (Cliff) of Union, MO; sister, Sidona Sue (George) Balizet and brother Clarence Edward “Buddy” George both of OH; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

For most of her life she worked as a Registered Cardiology Technologist at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville, Illinois, and then for several private practice cardiologists. Bonnie loved to travel, and enjoyed farming, working in her yard and gardening. Her favorite flowers were irises, roses, and her ornamental flowering trees. She raised cattle and peafowl until two years ago. Bonnie enjoyed making and collecting quilts, and she loved visits with friends and talking with everyone she knew. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Milan, MO.

Mass services for Bonnie will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 14, 2020 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Milan, Missouri. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Milan is handling arrangements.
