Sylvia Irene Pearson

Sylvia Irene Pearson, 89, of Unionville passed away at the Putnam County Care Center on October 30, 2020.

Sylvia Irene Pearson was born in Unionville, Missouri, on May 31, 1931, the daughter of Floyd and Mary (Steele) Anders. She was married to her childhood sweetheart Harold E. (Short) Pearson on March 29, 1948, and he preceded her in death. To this loving marriage two children were born, a son Roger, and a daughter Wanda.

Sylvia was a lifelong resident of Eastern Putnam County residing within a few miles of where she was born and raised. Sylvia worked alongside of Short for many years on their farm milking cows and caring for their animals. Sylvia also was employed at Missouri Mining weighing trucks and running the hatchery. After retiring Sylvia continued to live at home daily monitoring the coming and goings of all her children and grandchildren. Her greatest joys were family gatherings and holidays, especially the 4th of July. She stayed busy baking her famous chocolate chip cookies for her grandchildren and their friends.

Sylvia is survived by her son, Roger Pearson and wife Sharon, and daughter Wanda and husband Randy Lupton, all of Unionville, Missouri. Four grandchildren, Bobby (Angie) Pearson , Jenny (Darren) Ryals, Tawnya (Chad) Fowler and Cindy (Brad) Daniels, and seven great-grandchildren, Kayla (Lance) Hudson, Justin Daniels, Levi Fowler, Kelli Ryals, Lance Fowler, Samantha Daniels, and Gage Pearson also survive.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents and a half brother, Robert Anders.

Private graveside services for Sylvia Pearson will be held at the Lone Pine Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of the Playle & Jones Family Funeral Home in Unionville, MO.
