Delia Mae Yardley

Delia Mae Yardley, 92 years old, of Milan, Missouri, passed away Monday, October 12, 2020 at Sullivan County Memorial Hospital.

Delia was born April 4, 1928 in Cora, Missouri to Olen and Rosetta (Breeding) Reger. She married William Turner, who preceded her in death. She then married Hugo Yardley on June 30, 1979, he preceded her on March 26, 2001. She was also preceded by: her parents; a sister, Ruth Edmands; and seven brothers, Herbert Reger, Lester Reger, James Reger, Leonard Reger, Kenneth Reger, Earl Reger, Robert Reger, and Ova Reger.

Delia is survived by Hugo’s children who then became her children, Jack Yardley (Dianna) of Glenwood, Missouri, George Yardley (Rose) of Aurora, Colorado, Bill Yardley of Milan, Shelly Meek of Milan, and Anna Wiles (Doug) of Milan; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister, Virginia Corwin of Colona, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.

Delia grew up in Sullivan County. She worked in several factories in Milan and also in Illinois. She also did some babysitting, and later was a security guard in Huntsville, Alabama. After retiring, she and Hugo worked for Ruschmeier Funeral Homes for several years. Delia loved planting flowers, quilting and crocheting. She adored her dogs, especially her last one, Roxie.

Funeral services for Delia will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, October 18, 2020 at Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Milan. A visitation is scheduled for one hour prior to the service, starting at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Milan.
