Billy Lee McCabe

Billy Lee McCabe, 67 years old, of Green City, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

Billy was born September 25, 1952 in Milan to Olen and Mary (White) McCabe. On July 28, 1981 he married Linda (Kincanon) McCabe, she survives him of the home. Also surviving: five children, Monty Lee McCabe (Nellie) of Bucklin, Missouri, Billy Lee McCabe (Marsha) of Brookfield, Missouri, Nina Jo Slater (Wyman) of Brookfield, Lucas McCabe (Heather) of Green City, and Carla Glidewell (Brandon) of Milan; 9 Grandchildren, Joseph Lee McCabe, Marisa McCabe, Mallory McCabe, Zack Slater (Latisha), Amanda Jo Slater (Aaron Maddox), LillyAnn McCabe, Samuel McCabe, Coleman McCabe, and Troy Glidewell; 2 great grandchildren, Paisleyh Slater and Colt Hill; 4 brothers, Dale McCabe (Margaret) of Davenport, Iowa, Paul McCabe of Milan, Steve McCabe (Mary) of Milan, and Joe McCabe (Leslie) of Milan; 5 sisters, Anna Mae Glidewell of Kansas City, Lois Hummel of Kansas City, Betty Rice of Bettendorf, Iowa, Sue Broyles (Kenny) of Milan, and Mary McCabe of Kirksville, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.

Billy was preceded in death by: his parents; a brother, Sam McCabe; and a sister-in-law, Vivian McCabe.

Billy was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County and a member of the Yellow Creek Baptist Church. He worked for FM Stampers, which later became Con Agra, and was presently employed by Smithfield in Milan working mostly in maintenance but also helping anybody who needed him. Billy enjoyed to hunt and fish, he had a great love for the outdoors. He loved to tell stories and just plain visit with people. He had a great love for his grandchildren and his great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Billy will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Green City. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Green City. A visitation is scheduled for 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday evening at the funeral home.
