Glen Junior Trent

Junior Trent, 71, of Unionville, Missouri, passed away at the Truman Veteran’s Hospital in Columbia, Missouri, on Wednesday, January 22, 2020, after a three week stay.

Glen Junior Trent was born in Unionville, Missouri, on March 22, 1948, the son of Glen and Thelma (Pearson) Trent, who preceded him death. He graduated from Unionville High School in 1966 and married Mary Alice Carter on August 26, 1967. She preceded him in death on April 4, 2009. Junior received his draft notification on his wedding day and reported for duty less than a month later. He served two years in the US Army in Vietnam. Junior returned to Unionville upon his discharge and started a family. He worked at Tiesort’s True Value and Bob’s Food Mart before beginning a 30 year career working for the city of Unionville. He worked mostly in the electrical department and as a power house operator. Junior retired in 2013.

Junior enjoyed bird hunting and fishing. He also liked to go out to eat with friends and play cards. Junior liked watching westerns and sports on TV, but he especially loved following his grandchildren and their sporting events. He loved family gatherings. Junior had a happy-go-lucky attitude and good sense of humor.

Junior is survived by his five children: Lonnie (Debbie) Trent, Danny (Tiffany) Trent, and Melody Trent, all of Unionville; Jeff (Krysta) Trent of Milan, Missouri; and Tim (Mindy) Trent of Hickman, Nebraska. Junior’s grandchildren are Ian and Treyton Trent, Brody, Chase, and Reed Trent, and Madison and Maranda Trent and Macaila Wallace. Junior is also survived by three sisters-in-law: Dixie (Bob) Hill, Linda Clark, and Hinda DeWitt, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, Junior was preceded in death by a brother, Dean Trent and his in-laws, Virgil and Florence Carter.

Graveside services for Junior Trent will be at the Unionville Cemetery with military honors at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 25, 2020. Visitation will be at Playle and Collins Family Funeral Home in Unionville one hour prior to the service.
