Rose Irene Marble, 84, of Edina, Missouri, passed away on March 9, 2026 at The Pines in Kirksville, Missouri.
Rose was born June 25, 1941, in Burlington, Iowa, to John Sid Simmons Sr. and Beulah Irene (Walker) Simmons.
She grew up in Plevna, Missouri, where she spent her early years with her parents and siblings. She attended Plevna Elementary School and later graduated from Edina High School with the Class of 1959.
In 1960, Rose and Terry Marble eloped were married in Moberly, Missouri, beginning a life built on family, hard work, and shared adventures.
Rose began her career as a switchboard operator in Plevna, Missouri before working at Social Services and Community Action Agency, Edina, Missouri. She spent many years assisting Terry with Marble Concrete Construction.
In later years, she found her passion as one of the most prolific antique dealers in Northeast Missouri. Known for her sharp eye and shrewd instincts, Rose developed a reputation for going to great lengths to find and sell hidden treasures at her many antique booths. She enjoyed traveling across the country to numerous Blue Stoneware conventions and built many friendships across all the communities she was involved with.
Rose also loved bringing people together. She hosted many family gatherings over the years, including the annual wiener roast, which became a favorite tradition of the family. She never knew a stranger and had a gift for striking up conversations and forming friendships wherever she went.
One of Rose’s greatest joys was sharing countless adventures with her grandchildren, creating unforgettable memories filled with laughter and stories they continue to treasure.
She is survived by her husband, Terry; her children, Tammy Kriegshauser, Tracie (Rex) Lingenfelter, and Tony (Kyane) Marble; her grandchildren Andy Lingenfelter, Devin Lingenfelter, Dylan (Molly) Kriegshauser, Mitch Kriegshauser, Vin Kriegshauser, Tanner Marble, and Carter Marble; her great-grandchildren Abigail Bealmer and Mary Kate Kriegshauser; sister’s-in law Nancy Simmons, Nancy Hamlin, Charlotte (Mike) Dyslin, and Diane Marble; and numerous nieces and nephews including Jamey (Beth) Simmons, Jason Simmons, and Doug (Debbie) Perrigo; and numerous friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Beulah Simmons; her siblings Barbara Jane Simmons, Junior Simmons, and Jeanne Perrigo; brother’s-in-law Charley Hamlin and Tim Marble and her son-in-law Pat Kriegshauser.
Rose will be remembered for her sharp eye for antiques, her love of family traditions, and the many unforgettable sayings that will live on in the stories and memories of those who knew her.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the Doss Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.
Visitation with the family receiving friends will be from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Park View Memorial Gardens in Kirksville, Missouri.
Pastor Brian Burton will officiate and Casket Bearers will be Dylan Kriegshauser, Mitch Kriegshauser, Vin Kriegshauser, Carter Marble, Tanner Marble, Andy Lingenfelter, and Devin Lingenfelter.
