Jo Lynn DeVries Neely went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 after a time in the Sullivan County Memorial Hospital in Milan and then the Boone County Hospital in Columbia.
Jo was born on September 28, 1947 to William Joseph DeVries and Vaunda Ilene Moddrell DeVries. She graduated from Green City R-1 in 1965. Jo married Roger Eubanks on October 9, 1965 and to this union a daughter, Michelle Eubanks, was born. Then on June 25, 1974, Jo Lynn married Kenneth Michael Neely. To this union two children were born: Heather Neely Jaques and Martin Neely.
She is survived by her children, Michelle Eubanks Parr (Terry Parr), Heather (Darin Jaques) and Martin Neely. Jo had eight grandchildren: Jennifer Pickett, Elisha Mendenhall (Ed McNish), Josh Pickett, Brittany Parr, Joel Pickett, Miles Jaques, Jared Sizemore (Courtney), and Jennifer (Brad Lunsford). Jo Lynn had several great grandchildren: Clay McNish, Audrey McNish, Aiden Mendenhall, Emma McNish, Jayden Sizemore, River Sizemore, Destiny (Jeremiah Summers), Hunter Lunsford, Olivia Lunsford, and Bless Lunsford.
Jo Lynn loved her community. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Green City and the American Legion Auxiliary Post 365. She was also a member of the Green City Historical Society (resident historian of Green City). Jo Lynn worked several jobs throughout her life including employment with Banquet Foods in Milan, cleaning the Green City Post Office, and working at the Green City Food Market until its closure in 2016.
Jo Lynn adored her grandchildren and was babysitting up until her illness. She enjoyed family time including camping, watching the grandkids play ball, playing cards, and corn hole.
Funeral services for Jo Lynn will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Ruschmeier-Smith Funeral Home in Green City, Missouri. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, East of Green City. A visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday evening, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Green City Presbyterian Church or American Legion Auxiliary Post 365.
