The Kirksville Lady Tigers dropped a hard fought game to St. Elizabeth 57-56 in their first game at the Southern Boone Classic. Trailing by two with time running out, St. Elizabeth’s Kinley Kemna, a freshman, buried a three pointer with four seconds left to give the Hornets a 57-56 lead. KIrksville had to go the length of the floor, Eva Danielson found Chloe Carter open with a long pass under the basket, but Carter missed the shot and St. Elizabeth holds on. That, however, was NOT the reason KHS lost the game. The Lady Tigers weren’t very good at the free throw line, only making 6 out of 12 in the fourth quarter, 12 out of 21 for the night. Also, the Hornet’s Regan Wobbe torched the Lady Tigers with 6 three’s on her way to 30 points. Eva Danielson led Kirksville with 16, 14 for Paishynce Fouts, ten for Macey Lehmann. Kirksville say a three game winning streak come to a close, and they dip to 10-8. Next, the Lady Tigers play Capital City Thursday at 7:00. Wednesday, the Tigers are scheduled to take on Riverview Gardens at 5:30.
