The Kirksville Lady Tigers dropped a tough game to Westran Tuesday night 49-47. KHS trailed by 10 at the break, then roared out onto to floor to start the second half, outscoring Westran 17-4 in the third period to take a three point lead 42-39. But Kirksville quickly put Westran in the double bonus in the fourth and Westran made 4 out of 5, helped by an old fashioned three point play by Westran’s Emma Wortman who finished with 15 points. Kirksville still had a chance, trailing by 2 with 7 seconds remaining. Eva Danielson inbounded to Chloe Carter underneath who missed the potential game tying basket, and while the teams battled for the rebound the clock ran out. Eva Danielson led all scorers with 17 points, Carter finished with 11. KHS dips to 7-7 and will host Mexico Friday night.
