The Kirksville Lady Tigers faced tough defense and 29 points from Hannibal’s Malia Stolte and still almost sent the game into overtime before dropping a 60-57 decision to the Lady Pirates Friday. Chloe Carter kept KHS in the game with 12 second half points on her way to 20 for the night, but the Lady Tigers gave the ball up 24 times to a strong Hannibal defense. Hannibal committed a traveling violation with 16 seconds to play and Kirksville had a chance to tie it. Paishynce Fouts missed a three from the corner, Carter got the rebound and tried to put it in for two and missed, but it wouldn’t have mattered. The clock ran out and Kirksville suffers their first conference loss to dip to 3-1, 7-6 overall. Next, it’s a road trip to Huntsville Tuesday to take on Westran.
