Paishynce Fouts sank the second of two free throws with one second left and the Kirksville Lady Tigers held off Fulton 48-47 Friday at Tiger Gym. Alia Puckett came up with a loose ball with the score tied at 47-47 and seven seconds left before coach Nick Totta called a quick time out. Fouts then attacked the basket and missed her shot but got fouled with a chance to win the game from the free throw line. She missed her first, then Tiger Gym held its collective breath as the second bounced around and finally fell in. Puckett stole the inbounds pass and the clock ran out to give KHS their fourth straight win. Kirksville led by eight points in the second half and watched as Fulton chipped away at it and Kirksville found a way to win it at the end. KHS went to the free throw line 39 times in a very physical game and made 25 of them as Kirksville drew contact multiple times. Freshman Eva Danielson led the way with 19 points, Fouts 12, Chloe Carter 11. Carter was 9 of ten from the stripe. The Lady Tigers climb to 4-2 on the year and 2-0 in the NCMC. Next, it’s a trip to Kansas City for the 12 Courts Of Christmas Monday and Tuesday the 30th and 31st.
