Chiefs Camp Begins

As Kansas City Chiefs quarterbacks, rookies and select veterans reported to training camp on Tuesday as the team will become the first to three-peat with Super Bowl titles, the Chiefs won’t have a completely clean bill of health.

Head coach Andy Reid told reporters defensive end BJ Thompson will begin the season on the non-football injury (NFI) list. That news comes as Thompson continues in his recovery from a cardiac arrest he suffered during OTAs.

Kansas City’s first-round pick, wide receiver Xavier Worthy, missed all of OTAs as he nursed a hamstring injury. Both Reid and quarterback Patrick Mahomes said Worthy should be good to go Wednesday when the first practice of camp begins but Mahomes said expectations are high for the Texas product.
