Shirley R. Beers, age 97, of Novelty, Missouri, passed away Friday, March 15, 2024, at Knox County Nursing Home in Edina, Missouri.
Born on November 24, 1926, in Elmer, Missouri, the daughter of Charles and Bess (Chadwick) Gelbach. On May 4, 1956, in Kansas City, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Wellington Beers.
She was preceded in death by her husband on June 29, 2002. Also preceding her in death were her parents.
Surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
She was a member of the Novelty Christian Church.
Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 28, 2024, in the IOOF Cemetery at Hurdland, Missouri under the direction of Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Shirley may be made to the IOOF Cemetery. They may be sent to or left at Travis Funeral Chapel, 125 S. Church St., La Plata, MO 63549.
