Pearlie Mae Shaver Applegate, age 92, of Leonard, MO, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2024, in the Knox County Nursing Home in Edina, MO. Mae was born October 5, 1931, at Hurdland, MO, the daughter of Perley and Nina Stice Shaver.
On June 3, 1951, Mae married William Leon Applegate and moved to the Applegate farm near Leonard, MO.
They became parents to five children. Deborah Young of Port Angeles, WA, the late Roger (Sallie) Applegate of Plevna, MO, Michael (Carol) Applegate of Huntsville, MO, Steven (Coral) Applegate of Hurdland, MO, and Gary (Lisa) Applegate of Linn, MO.
Mrs. Applegate was preceded in death by her parents, four siblings, Mary, Johnny Margaret and Shirley, her son Roger Applegate and her husband Leon.
She is survived by her other four children, eleven grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, a brother-in-law, Gene Howerton and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 24, 2024, in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. and funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Mt. Salem Cemetery north of Plevna, MO.
