The Kirksville Lady Tigers saw their three game winning streak come to an end, dropping the first game of the Highland Tournament Monday to the host Highland Lady Cougars 45-24. Highland played up tempo all afternoon, moving the ball around quickly, playing pressure defense and double teaming, forcing 24 Lady Tiger turnovers. KHS was off balance after a long weekend in Kansas City and winning a couple of tough games. Paishynce Fouts connected on four three-pointers on her way to 12 points to lead Kirksville. Highland had two players in double figures with Addy Abell scoring 19, Abby Lay with 14. Kirksville dips to 6-4 on the year and won’t play again until Friday’s fifth place game against an opponent to be determined at 4:30. Top seed Kirksville Tigers play Thursday at 5:00 after getting a first round bye.
