Lady Tigers Fall At Highland

The Kirksville Lady Tigers saw their three game winning streak come to an end, dropping the first game of the Highland Tournament Monday to the host Highland Lady Cougars 45-24. Highland played up tempo all afternoon, moving the ball around quickly, playing pressure defense and double teaming, forcing 24 Lady Tiger turnovers. KHS was off balance after a long weekend in Kansas City and winning a couple of tough games. Paishynce Fouts connected on four three-pointers on her way to 12 points to lead Kirksville. Highland had two players in double figures with Addy Abell scoring 19, Abby Lay with 14. Kirksville dips to 6-4 on the year and won’t play again until Friday’s fifth place game against an opponent to be determined at 4:30. Top seed Kirksville Tigers play Thursday at 5:00 after getting a first round bye.
