Sharks Take Bite Out Of Blues

SAN JOSE 5 – St. Louis 1… Mike Hoffman capped a four-goal second period with his second goal of the game and the Sharks buried the Blues. Luke Kunin and Givani Smith each had a goal and an assist. Goalie Kaapo Kahkonen made 44 saves.

 

OTTAWA 5 – Detroit 4 (OT)… The Senators scored the game’s first four goals but needed another from Tim Stutzie with two seconds left in overtime to put away the Red Wings in a NHL Global Series game played in Stockholm. Stutzie also assisted on two goals in regulation. Brady Tkachuk scored back-to-back goals four minutes apart in the first period. Shane Gostisbehere had a goal and two assists. 

Vegas 6 – MONTREAL 5… Jack Eichel’s power-play goal broke a tie with 1:57 remaining and Mark Stone’s power-play goal 44 seconds later proved to be decisive as the Golden Knights held off the Canadiens. Shea Theodore scored on a power play and Brett Howden scored short-handed during a four-goal second period. 

New Jersey 5 – PITTSBURGH 2… Jesper Bratt netted a tie-breaking goal early in the third period and the Devils scored twice more unanswered to down the Penguins. Bratt also assisted on a goal. Curtis Lazar added a goal and an assist. Erik Haula and Luke Hughes each had two assists. 

Arizona 3 – COLUMBUS 2… The Coyotes scored three straight goals spanning the second and third periods to take a two-goal lead and held on to edge the Blue Jackets. Logan Cooley scored a tie-breaking power-play goal midway through the third period and Lawson Crouse found the net 28 seconds later. Goalie Connor Ingram made 36 saves.

Tampa Bay  4 – CHICAGO 2… Victor Hedman scored a tie-breaking goal in the third period and added an empty-netter as the Lightning doubled up on the Blackhawks. Brayden Point had a goal and two assists. 

CALGARY 5 – Vancouver 2… MacKenzie Weegar tied the game with the first of four straight goals extending into the third period to help push the Flames past the Canucks. Jonathan Huberdeau scored a goal and set up another. Blake Coleman and Elias Lindholm each had two assists. 

SEATTLE 4 – N.Y. Islanders 3 (SO)… Kailer Yamamoto scored a tying goal on a third-period power play and added the game-winner in an eight-round shootout to give the Kraken a hard-fought win over the Islanders. Oliver Bjorkstrand and Jordan Eberle also found the net in the tie-breaker for Seattle. Matty Beniers and Alex Wennberg scored power-play goals in the second.

LOS ANGELES 2 – Florida 1… Goals by Anze Kopitar and Kevin Fiala gave the Kings a two-goal lead heading into the third period and they held off the Panthers. Cam Talbot made 30 stops at goal.
