NATIONAL LEAGUE
PITTSBURGH 2 – St. Louis 1… Ji Hwan Bae stroked a two-run single in the bottom of the first inning and the Pirates hung on to edge the Cardinals. Rich Hill (5-5) allowed a run on four hits over 6-2/3 innings and three relievers did the rest.

Philadelphia 11 – WASHINGTON 3… Kyle Schwarber slugged a pair of three-run homers as the Phillies battered the Nationals. Drew Ellis added two homers and three RBIs. Ranger Suarez (1-2) gave up just a run on eight hits over seven innings.

Milwaukee 5 – CINCINNATI 1… Adrian Houser (2-1) limited the Reds to a run on six hits over seven innings and the Brewers cruised to the win. Andruw Monasterio blasted a three-run homer in the top of the first inning. Victor Caratini also went deep.

Atlanta 8 – ARIZONA 5… Eddie Rosario unloaded a grand slam in the top of the ninth inning to power the Braves past the Diamondbacks. Oscar Albies and Matt Olson hit two-run homers for Atlanta.

Chi. Cubs 7 – SAN DIEGO 1… Marcus Stroman (6-4) allowed just an unearned run on four hits over six innings on the way to winning his fourth straight start and the Cubs ripped the Padres. Yan Gomes and Trey Mancini hit back-to-back homers to lead off the top of the second inning and Dansby Swanson added a two-run double.

AMERICAN LEAGUE
TAMPA BAY 6 – Boston 2… The Rays took advantage of some shoddy fielding in downing the Red Sox. Manuel Margot singled home a go-ahead run in the bottom of the fourth inning. Taj Bradley (4-2) gave up two runs on six hits over five innings.

L.A. Angels 2 – HOUSTON 1… Shohei Ohtani doubled home Zach Neto with a tie-breaking run in the top of the eighth inning and the Angels made it stand in their win over the Astros. The game featured a duel between L.A. starter Griffin Canning and his counterpart J.P. France, but neither got a decision.

Cleveland 2 – MINNESOTA 1… Josh Naylor doubled home Jose Ramirez with the game’s first run in the top of the seventh inning and scored on Andres Giménez’s triple as the Guardians squeezed past the Twins. Cleveland starter Triston Mackenzie pitched hone hit-ball and struck out 10 over five innings, but the win went to reliever James Karinchak (2-4).

CHI. WHITE SOX 6 – Detroit 2… Jake Burger’s grand slam in the bottom of the ninth inning gave the White Sox a walkoff win over the Tigers. Yasmani Grandal singled home a tying run in the sixth.

TEXAS 12 – Seattle 3… Jonah Heim stroked a two-run single and belted a three-run homer to lead the Rangers in their thrashing of the Mariners. Corey Seager homered with the bases empty and doubled home a run. Nathan Eovaldi (8-2) pitched one-hit ball over six scoreless innings.

INTERLEAGUE
MIAMI 7 – Oakland 5… The Marlins overcame a 5-1 fourth-inning deficit to top the Athletics. Luis Arraez’s infield single scored Joey Wendle with a tie-breaking run in the bottom of the eighth inning. Garrett Cooper blasted a game-tying three-run homer in the fifth.

Toronto 6 – N.Y. METS 4… The Blue Jays recovered to beat the Mets after blowing a four-run lead. Brandon Belt connected for a tie-breaking two-run homer in the top of the seventh inning. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. also went deep for Toronto. Whit Merrifield lined a two-run double.

KANSAS CITY 2 – Colorado 0… Brady Singer (4-4) scattered five hits over 5-2/3 scoreless innings and three Royals relievers completed the shutout of the Rockies. Michael Massey singled home a run and Maikel Garcia homered for Kansas City.

Baltimore 8 – SAN FRANCISCO 3… Josh Lester’s first major league hit was a two-run single that capped a six-run top of the third inning and the Orioles never looked back in breezing past the Giants. Tyler Wells (4-2) surrendered two runs on four hits over 5-1/3 innings.

N.Y. Yankees 4 – L.A. DODGERS 1… Anthony Rizzo scored a tie-breaking run on Oswaldo Cabrera’s infield grounder in the top of the eighth inning and Anthony Volpe homered with a runner aboard in the ninth to push the Yankees past the Dodgers. New York was held scoreless on just one hit over the first six innings by L.A. starter Bobby Miller. Yankee starter Domingo Germán gave up a run on four hits over 6-2/3 innings but the win went to reliever Clay Holmes (4-2).
