NEW JERSEY 8 – Carolina 4… Jack Hughes scored two goals and assisted on two others as the Devils doubled up on the Hurricanes to pull within 2-1 in the second-round series. Nico Hischier and Ondrej Palat each had a goal and an assist. Dawson Mercer set up three goals. The series remains in Newark for Game 4 tomorrow.
FLORIDA 3 – Toronto 2 (OT)… Sam Reinhart scored on a wrap-around at 3:02 of overtime to give the Panthers a hard-fought win over the Maple Leafs and a 3-0 lead in the second-round series. Anthony Duclair and Carter Verhaeghe netted second-period goals. The series remains in Miami for Game 4 on Wednesday.
SEATTLE 7 – Dallas 2… The Kraken erupted to score five goals in the second period and bury the Stars to take a 2-1 lead in the second-round series. Matty Beniers, Eeli Tolvanen, Alex Wennberg and Justin Schultz all had a goal and an assist. The series remains in Seattle for Game 4 tomorrow.
