NATIONAL LEAGUE
MIAMI 4 – San Francisco 2… Jazz Chisholm connected for a go-ahead three-run homer in the bottom of the sixth inning to power the Marlins past the Giants. Edward Cabrera (1-1) allowed two runs on six hits over six innings.

Arizona 8 – ST. LOUIS 7… The Diamondbacks withstood a late rally to edge the Cardinals. Gabriel Moreno blasted a three-run homer. Nick Ahmed lined a two-run double.

Pittsburgh 5 – COLORADO 3… Jack Suwinski drove in three runs with a pair of homer and the Pirates downed the Rockies. The loss was the seventh in a row for Colorado.

Atlanta 8 – SAN DIEGO 1… The Braves breezed past the Padres for their eighth straight win. Matt Olson and Ozzie Albies hit three-run homers. Sean Murphy also went deep.

L.A. DODGERS 5 – N.Y. Mets 0… Clayton Kershaw (2-1) pitched three-hit ball and struck out nine over seven innings on his way to recording his 200th career victory and two relievers completed the Dodgers’ blanking of the Mets. J.D. Martinez went 4-for-5 with a pair of homers and four RBIs.

AMERICAN LEAGUE
DETROIT 4 – Cleveland 3… Kerry Carpenter’s two-out solo homer in the bottom of the ninth inning lifted the Tigers over the Guardians in the opener of a doubleheader. Carpenter also doubled home a tying run in the fifth.

DETROIT 1 – Cleveland 0… Eduardo Rodriguez limited the Guardians to four hits over eight innings and reliever Jason Foley completed the shutout as the Tigers finished off a sweep of the twinbill. Austin Greene’s homer in the bottom of the sixth inning provided the game’s only offense.

L.A. Angels 5 – N.Y. YANKEES 2… Shohei Ohtani homered with a runner aboard, Anthony Rendon knocked in two runs and the Angels downed the Yankees. Five L.A. pitchers held New York to four hits.

BOSTON 5 – Minnesota 4 (10 innings)… Reese McGuire stroked a game-tying two-run single in the bottom of the 10th inning and scored the winning run on Alex Verdugo’s single as the Red Sox outlasted the Twins. Rafael Devers and Jarren Duran each had a couple of hits and an RBI.

Texas 12 – KANSAS CITY 2… Three-run homers by Marcus Semien and Adolis Garcia highlighted the Rangers’ thrashing of the Royals. Nathan Eovaldi (2-2) gave up two runs on seven hits over six innings.

Toronto 4 – HOUSTON 2… The Blue Jays built a 4-0 lead through five innings and held on to beat the Astros. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Matt Chapman hit solo homers.   Chris Bassitt (2-2) pitched three-hit ball over 6-1/3 scoreless innings.

INTERLEAGUE
Philadelphia 7 – CHI, WHITE SOX 4… Josh Harrison had three hits, including a two-run homer, and drove in four runs as the Phillies topped the White Sox in the opener of a doubleheader. Alec Bohm contributed a two-run single.

CHI, WHITE SOX 3 – Philadelphia 0… Lucas Giolito (1-1) pitched six hitless innings and three relievers allowed just one hit the rest of the way as the White Sox blanked the Phillies and earned a split of the twinbill. Jake Burger’s three-run homer in the bottom of the first inning accounted for the game’s only scoring.

Tampa Bay 10 – CINCINNATI 0… Taj Bradley (2-0) pitched three-hit ball over 5-1/3 scoreless innings and got plenty of support in the Rays’ shutout of the Reds. Taylor Walls homered twice and knocked in four runs. Yandy Diaz blasted a three-run homer. Randy Arozarena also went deep.

Baltimore 1 – WASHINGTON 0… Dean Kremer (1-0) held the Nationals to four hits over 6-1/3 innings and combined with three Orioles relievers to shut out the Nationals. Austin Hays singled home Ryan Mountcastle with the game’s only run in the top of the fourth inning.

Chi. Cubs 4 – OAKLAND 0… The Cubs scored all four runs in the top of the eighth inning to hand the Athletics their sixth straight loss. Cody Bellinger singled home a run and scored. Oakland managed just two hits off four Chicago pitchers.

Milwaukee 6 – SEATTLE 5 (11 innings)… Willy Adames run-scoring grounder in the top of the 11th inning proved to be decisive as the Brewers outlasted the Mariners.  Adames also doubled home a run and homered with the bases empty. Christian Yelich also went deep for Milwaukee.
