NATIONAL LEAGUE
Arizona 5 – MIAMI 0… Diamondbacks starter Zac Gallen (2-1) pitched two-hit ball over 6-2/3 innings and got help from two relievers in shutting out the Marlins. Corbin Carroll homered with a runner aboard for Arizona.

Philadelphia 14 – CINCINNATI 3… The Phillies erupted to scored nine runs in the top of the first inning and coast past the Reds. Jake Cave lined a bases-clearing double and singled home a run. Bryson Stott and J.T. Realmuto homered for Philadelphia.

ST. LOUIS 5 – Pittsburgh 4 (10 innings)… Tommy Edman singled home Tyler O’Neill with the winning run as the Cardinals scored twice in the bottom of the 10th inning to put away the Pirates. Lars Nootbaar hit a two-run homer for St. Louis.

Chi. Cubs 3 – L.A. DODGERS 2… Cody Bellinger hit a tie-breaking solo homer in the top of the sixth inning and Patrick Wisdom followed with his third homer in as many games to power the Cubs past the Dodgers. Drew Smyly (1-1) allowed a run on four hits over 5-2/3 innings.

Milwaukee 1 – SAN DIEGO 0… Wade Miley (2-1) held the Padres to four hits over seven innings and two relievers did the rest in the shutout win. Brian Anderson’s sacrifice fly scored Garrett Mitchell with the game’s only run in the top of the inning.

AMERICAN LEAGUE
BOSTON 2 – L.A. Angels 1… Justin Turner corrected for a go-ahead two-run homer in the bottom of the inning and the Red Sox hung on to edge the Angels. Garrett Whitlock (1-1) gave up a run on three hits over seven innings.

N.Y. YANKEES 2 – Minnesota 0… Gerrit Cole (4-0) tossed a complete-game two-hitter and got just enough support in the Yankees’ win over the Twins. DJ LeMahieu singled home a run and homered for New York.

Tampa Bay 8 – Toronto 1… Christian Bethancourt cracked a three-run home and Josh Lowe also knocked in three runs to lead the Rays past the Blue Jays. Shane McClanahan (4-0) allowed just a run on four hits over innings.

Baltimore 8 – CHI. WHITE SOX 4… Cedric Mullens had three hits and drove in three runs to lead the Orioles past the White Sox. His single in the top of the ninth inning brought home Gunnar Henderson with the decisive run.

Texas 9 – HOUSTON 1… Marcus Semien unloaded a grand slam as the Tigers scored six runs in the top of the seventh inning to bury the Astros. Leody Taveras added a two-run double in the eighth.

INTERLEAGUE
WASHINGTON 7 – Cleveland 6… The Nationals came from three runs down after 6-1/2 innings to rally past the Guardians. Joey Menesez singled home a tie-breaking run in the bottom of the eighth inning. Jeimer Candelario and Luis Garcia smacked solo homers for Washington.

Atlanta 5 – KANSAS CITY 4… Vaughn Grissom singled home Ozzie Albies with a go-ahead run in the top of the ninth inning and the Braves made it stand in their win over the Royals. Albies had four hits, including a solo homer. Matt Olson legged out a two-run triple.

N.Y. Mets 4 – OAKLAND 3… Francisco Lindor drew a bases-loaded walk in the top of the fifth inning to bring home a tie-breaking run and the Mets made it stand in topping the Athletics. Lindor and Pete Alonso solo homers for New York.

SEATTLE 1 – Colorado 0… Luis Castillo (2-0) pitched two-hit ball over seven innings and two relievers completed the Mariners’ shutout of the Rockies. Jarred Kelenic singled home Ty France with the game’s only run in the bottom of the sixth inning.

San Francisco – DETROIT (ppd)… A forecast of rain in Detroit forced postponement of yesterday’s Giants-Tigers game. It will be made up on July 24.
