Cincinnati 6 – PHILADELPHIA 4… Jake Fraley’s bases-clearing double in the top of the ninth inning sent the Reds past the Phillies. Jason Vosler’s eighth-inning double scored Wil Myers with the tying run.
Miami 7 – N.Y. METS 2… Bryan De La Cruz belted a three-run homer and lifted a sacrifice fly to lead the Marlins past the Mets. Garrett Cooper homered with a runner aboard for Miami.
MILWAUKEE 6 – St. Louis 1… Willy Adames stroked a two-run double and homered with the bases empty as the Brewers cruised past the Cardinals. Freddy Peralta (2-0) allowed a run on four hits over six innings. Christian Yelich also went deep for Milwaukee and Rowdy Tellez added a two-run double.
COLORADO 7 – Washington 6… The Rockies came up with four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to erase a three-run deficit and hung on to edge the Nationals. Elías Diaz went 3-for-4 with a solo homer and run-scoring double. Jurickson Profar also went deep for Colorado.
ARIZONA 11 – L.A. Dodgers 6… The Diamondbacks banged out 16 hits in beating the Dodgers for the third time in the four-game series. Pavin Smith knocked in three runs with a pair of doubles.
San Diego 10 – ATLANTA 2… Nelson Cruz went 3-for-4 with a three-run homer and six RBIs in leading the Padres past the Braves. Ha-Seong Kim doubled home a run and cracked a two-run homer. Trent Grisham also homered.
AMERICAN LEAGUE
Boston 4 – DETROIT 1… The Red Sox eased past the Tigers to complete a three-game sweep of the series. Tristan Casas homered and doubled home a run. Kutter Crawford (1-1) allowed a run on five hits over five innings.
TAMPA BAY 11 – Oakland 0… The Rays matched the best start to a season in 20 years by dismantling the Athletics and running their record to 9-0. Drew Rasmussen allowed Oakland’s only hit over seven innings and got help from two relievers on the shutout. Brandon Lowe unloaded a grand slam and singled home a run. Harold Ramirez homered with a runner aboard. Wander Franco also went deep.
N.Y. Yankees 5 – BALTIMORE 3… Aaron Judge had three hits, including a pair of solo homers, and the Yankees downed the Orioles. Franchy Cordero added a two-run blast. Nestor Cortes (2-0) gave up two runs on four hits over 5-1/3 innings.
CLEVELAND 7 – Seattle 6 (12 innings)… The Guardians pushed across two runs in the bottom of the 12th inning on a pair of infield grounders to outlast the Mariners. Will Brennan tied the game in the ninth with a two-run double and added a tying single as both teams scored twice in the 11th.
Houston 5 – MINNESOTA 1… Chas McCormick hit a two-run homer and singled home two runs in leading the Astros past the Twins. Hunter Brown (1-0) surrendered just an unearned run on two hits over seven innings.
Toronto 12 – L.A. ANGELS 11 (10 innings)… The Blue Jays scored twice in the top of the 10th inning and hung on to outlast the Angels in a wild one. Toronto overcame a six-run sixth-inning deficit only to blow a four-run eighth-inning lead. Matt Chapman blasted a grand slam and singled home a run. Kevin Kiermaier added five RBIs with a single, double and triple.
INTERLEAGUE
PITTSBURGH 1 – CHI. WHITE SOX 0… Jack Suwinski’s sacrifice fly in the bottom of the second inning brought home Smith-Njigba with the game’s only run as the Pirates clipped the White Sox. Jose Oviedo (1-0) pitched five-hit ball over 6-2/3 innings in outdueling Michael Kopech (0-2)
Texas 8 – CHI. CUBS 2… Marcus Semien stroked a two-run double to cap a four-run bottom of the second inning and added a run-scoring single in the Rangers’ win over the Cubs. Jon Gray (1-1) allowed two runs on six hits over 5-2/3 innings.
SAN FRANCISCO 3 – Kansas City 1… Wilmer Flores doubled home a run and Michael Conforto followed with a two-run homer as the Giants scored all three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to upend the Royals. The game featured a duel between San Francisco starter Anthony DeSclafani and his counterpart Kris Bubic, but neither got a decision.
