N.Y. Islanders 2 – WASHINGTON 1 (SO)… Bo Horvat and Kyle Palmieri scored in the shootout to send the Islanders past the Capitals. Pierre Engvall broke a scoreless tie early in the second period. Goalie Ilya Sorokin made 25 saves.
Minnesota 4 – COLORADO 2… Marcus Johansson and Sam Steel scored first-period goals Frederick Gaudreau scored a short-handed goal in the second and the Wild held off the Avalanche. Gaudreau capped the scoring with an empty-netter. Goalie Filip Gustavsson made 42 saves.
